Our purpose

10,000 garages, hacking our way to a new industry.

It starts as a network that helps one person finish one conversion. It ends as the reason almost anyone can afford one.

Begin

What we're hacking against

Converting a car isn't a mystery — but it gets solved privately, over and over, by people who aren't connected.

$150,000

is what it costs to buy your way past the hard part. One conversion shop told us most people walk away when they hear the number.

Battery. Motor. Controller. Software.

Every shop, every solo builder, every engineer in our corpus has solved this from scratch. Nobody has cracked it once for everybody else. Yet.

Three years on jack stands

is the real failure mode. Not the price tag — a build that never gets finished.

Every build starts alone.

Then it finds the others.

Every build makes the next one faster, cheaper, easier.

That's not a metaphor. It's a mechanism.750+ documented conversions in electr0motiv intelligence

You finish your car.

Not for a mission. For you. That is the only reason anyone ever starts, and the platform has to earn its keep in completions.

The build becomes knowledge.

Mounts, harness, pack layout — documented once, in a form the next builder can actually use.

The next build gets cheaper.

Nobody pays twice to answer the same question. Order the part instead of engineering it. Follow the kit instead of guessing.

Cheaper means more builders.

As costs fall, people who were watching from the sidelines start building. Each of them logs another build.

The loop is the industry.

Keep it turning and it stops being a community project. The parts, the methods and the people who know how — that is an industry, and this is how one gets built.

A turnkey shop: $75,000 to $150,000 — if there's room on the list.

A solo build can cost less. Many never finish.

10,000 garages bend the cost curve.

The target: $15,000 — as ordinary as an LS swap.

$150k $50k $15k MORE BUILDS → $150,000 Turnkey shop today Target $15,000 kit

In 1997, an LS engine swap was a feat of engineering.

Today it's a part number, a harness kit, and a weekend.

An EV conversion is sitting exactly where the LS swap sat in 1997.

Nothing about that changed by accident. Someone documented the first thousand.

LS swap, 1997

Custom mounts. Custom wiring. A tune built from scratch.

LS swap, today

A part number for the mounts. A harness kit. A tune off the shelf.

EV conversion, today

Solved from scratch, every build, by whoever is brave enough to try.

EV conversion, at scale

A documented reference kit. A weekend, not a decade.

How a hobbyist becomes a Converter

The loop needs people at every rung. Each one is a real role, not a badge.

Roadmap

The loop runs on geography — and collaborative car culture.

Eight regional clusters are live today.

Each cluster shares the dataset. A fix found in Colorado travels to Boston next week.

That's multiplication, not a projection. There are no certified Converters yet — that's the point. Get the kit cheap enough and simple enough to build, and the rest is demographics.

Where this started

Every hard part of my build had already been solved by someone else, somewhere — if I could have found them.

I'm converting a 1971 BMW 2002 on a drivetrain pulled from a wrecked Nissan Leaf. The mounting, the adapter plate, the battery fit: integration is a collaboration opportunity.

electr0motiv exists so the next person doesn't have to go looking alone.

Founder, electr0motiv

electr0motiv exists to make your EV conversion easier, smarter and more fun. That's the whole job. It has to work on that basis alone, or nothing else here matters.

A guild's real purpose is advancing a craft. Refine it far enough and it becomes precise, repeatable, and teachable to anyone. That is the birth of a new industry. Not a factory. A few thousand people who all know how.

We're not asking you to build a car for the mission. We're asking you to build your car. Our purpose is what happens when enough of us do.

Add one build. Bend the whole curve.

Plan a conversion, compare it against 750+ real ones, and share your project as you build it.
